A Journey Through Our Financial Institution's Rich
History
In 1972, employees of the then larger Ministry of Agriculture, came together and founded Apstar Sacco hence the name Ukulima which translates to Agriculture in English. Based on the spirit of cooperative movement founders.
Apstar was bent towards bringing people with a common bond together in a bid to empower each other financially. Those who came together were driven with a purpose of uniting and guarantee each other in order to access loans to help them invest in various areas.
This marked the dawn for Apstar Sacco. Since then, the Sacco membership has grown gradually across the country spanning beyond cities, rural areas and villages empowering members in their day to day economic activities. Apstar Sacco therefore enabled members within these areas and with scarce resources to save and borrow

I am Emmy Ingaiza Kageha an agricultural officer by profession, I worked with the Kisumu County government until January 2022 when I retired, and I have a home in Mamboleo in Kisumu. I have had a passion for poultry farming since childhood.
